Mohamed Shieraz is young and dynamic businessman who started his career2012.

After completion of his secondary education at the prestigious Majeedhiyya School in 2002, he left for Australia for his tertiary education. He attended Eynesbury College, Adelaide, where he obtained Australian Matriculation. After spending some time in at Taylors College, Malaysia, he opted to attend Management Development Institute in Singapore, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

With a degree in Business Management from Singapore, Shieraz returned to Maldives, joined Village TV to apply his acquired knowledge in modernizing the Marketing and Procurement processes in that Institution.

After working with Villa TV from 2010 to 2012, with his enthusiasm and confidence to pursue his own business career, he started his venture in the challenging Maldives tourism industry, registering SIM Travels Pvt Ltd in 2012, which pioneered in introducing the Guesthouse market to Chinese tour operators, in addition to making bookings for his clients at end resorts of Maldives.

Mr. Shieraz started his F&B business in opening “Kohthu Hut” restaurant which promoted an exclusive recipe for the sumptuous “Kohthu Roshi”. Soon he opened his second partnership restaurant “Hirigaa”, a unique ambient, preserving the traditional corals of Maldives.

To carter the demanding needs for exclusive repair and maintenance of high motorcycles, he opened SIM Riders Automobile Service Center.

Today Mr. Shieraz is the proprietor of the 40-year-old family timber business, SIM Traders Pvt Ltd: Timber trade.

His business ventures also include his investment in the media company, Trans Ocean Broadcasting Co. Pvt. Ltd., that operates Ocean TV Channel.

The philanthropic work of Mr. Shieraz includes his executive role in the management of programs of China-Maldivian Cultural Association, which is a platform for Maldivian youth to create global awareness through cultural exchanges.
